One area of compounding that we are involved in is hormone restoration using bio -identical hormones . These are plant based and converted into the various hormones… progesterone, oestrogen, testosterone, pregnenolone, melatonin, thyroid hormone, DHEA to name a few!
WHAT DOES BIOIDENTICAL MEAN?Bio -identical meaning just that … they are identified by our body’s as like our own so therefore fit into the body like a lock and key… this is different to synthetic hormones as they often have chemical groups attached so the fit is not as good and can affect the outcome (side effects/unwanted effects ). However this is a conversation to have with your doctor to decide which treatment path suits your needs the best.HOW DO YOU TAKE HORMONES?
We can make hormone combinations that top up what you are lacking , and make them into a form (capsule/transdermal cream, gel, troche /lozenge /pessary/solution etc … )that will be absorbed the best giving you optimal treatment … which can be tweaked along the way ..
